Esperanza 4, Edison 1--Esperanza upset ninth-ranked Edison, but missed the playoffs by a point. Heather Nelson, Shannon Moore, Kim Gallo and Lisa Helmle scored for the Aztecs (12-7-3, 5-4-1). Edison (5-3-2 in league) finished tied for second.

Fountain Valley 5, Huntington Beach 1--Fountain Valley (15-4-4, 5-3-2) tied for second with Edison in league.

In the Century League:

El Modena 8, Orange 0--Jill Pearson scored three goals for league champion El Modena (18-5-2, 5-2).

In the Empire League:

Kennedy 1, Cypress 0--Hilary Poan’s goal with 10 minutes remaining gave the Fighting Irish (15-4-3, 8-2) a victory and the league title.

In the Freeway League:

La Habra 1, Troy 0 (OT)--Two minutes into overtime, Diana Flacks knocked in the game-winner, giving La Habra the championship. Troy (13-2-1, 8-2), which needed only a tie to win the title, finished in second. La Habra goes into the playoffs 15-7-1, 8-1-1.

In the Golden West League:

Westminster 1, Santa Ana 0--Alicia Kimura scored in the fourth minute for visiting Westminster (8-9-1, 5-5) and goalkeeper Betsy Tuggle posted her eighth shutout, a single-season school record.

In the Orange League:

Brea Olinda 3, Magnolia 0--Katie O’Brien, Christine Sherwood and Susan Shuplock scored for Brea Olinda (14-7-1, 10-0).

Valencia 7, Western 0--Katie Etherton and Rachel Ferrari each scored twice to lead Valencia (13-6-2, 7-3).

In the Pacific Coast League:

University 3, Aliso Niguel 1--University and Aliso Niguel finished tied for second place.

In the South Coast League:

Capistrano Valley 3, Dana Hills 1--Jen Tomczik, Elizabeth Delgado and Tiffany Landgraff each scored for Capistrano Valley, which finished second in league at 18-4-3, 7-2-1.

Mater Dei 1, Mission Viejo 0--Katie Ticehurst scored a first-half goal for host Mater Dei (17-4-2, 8-1-1), which won its third consecutive league title.
