D.A. Seeks Volunteers to Aid Crime Victims

Share

The Ventura County district attorney is recruiting volunteers to help crime victims as they wend their way through the criminal justice system.

The volunteers are trained by workers in the Victim Services Division of the D.A.’s office and help assess the emotional, physical and financial needs of crime victims. Volunteers accompany victims to court hearings and help the victims understand the legal process.

Training begins Feb. 21, and volunteers will receive lessons in counseling skills and the criminal justice system. Bilingual volunteers are especially needed, officials said.
