Obituaries : Cynthia Romero; Real Estate Agent

Share

Cynthia Anne “Cindi” Romero, a Ventura resident and real estate agent with a penchant for interior design, has died after a two-year bout with cancer. She was 56.

Romero was born in Virginia but spent most of her life in Ventura and San Luis Obispo. She worked as a telephone operator and as a real estate agent. Her greatest joy, said her mother, was her family and home. “She loved being a homemaker and decorating her house,” said Sondra Simerson. “She thought about going into interior decorating, but never got to do that.

“She was a very loving, concerned person,” Simerson added. “People always went to her for advice.”

In addition to her mother, Romero is survived by her husband, Chris Romero; two brothers, Winston Daugherty of San Diego and Douglas Daugherty of Ventura; two sons, Josh Reeves and Robert Burnett, both of Ventura; two daughters, Brandi Burnett of Ventura and Erica Warren of Oxnard; four grandchildren, three nephews and one niece.

A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. today at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at Charles Carroll Funeral Home in Ventura. Pledging that the service will be one of “loving, bright emotions,” her family asks that visitors dress accordingly.

Donations are being accepted in Romero’s name at the physical rehabilitation unit at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, 1600 N. Rose Ave., Oxnard, 93030.
