Safety Steps Urged for California 118

Share

Las Posas Valley residents concerned about a string of traffic fatalities on California 118 in recent months plan to present state and county officials with possible solutions to the problem at a March 21 meeting.

A group called Citizens for a Safe Highway 118 has formed to raise the level of safety on a 16-mile stretch of road from Moorpark to Saticoy Bridge. There were 10 deaths on California 118 in Ventura County last year.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Mesa Union School, 3901 Mesa School Road, in Somis.

The group has invited Art Goulet, county public works director, as well as state legislators and regional California Department of Transportation officials.
