Group Seeks Sponsors for L.A. Marathon
The Crippled Children’s Society of Southern California needs sponsors for participants in the 11th annual Los Angeles Marathon.
Twenty entrants, including eight with disabilities, from the Joanne & H.E. Baher Center in Woodland Hills, are scheduled to participate in the marathon on Sunday, officials said. The money raised, they said, will be used for the organization’s ongoing programs and services.
The 70-year-old, nonprofit, Los Angeles-based Crippled Children’s Society serves people of all ages with physical and developmental disabilities. It operates a network of service centers, residential facilities and summer camps throughout the region, including the Baher Center.
Anyone interested in being a sponsor or in volunteering on race day should call Tresa Kassan at (818) 884-6612.
In last year’s marathon, the society raised more than $30,000 from sponsors, said Cristofer Arroyo, Baher Center director.
