San Gabriel Valley : LOCKING UP

A City of Industry Realtor said he is being driven away from his business by bare breasts and bananas.

Pat Young, owner of a 100-employee Century 21 office, said this week he sold his business to another franchise owner and is packing his bags to get away from the Hawaii Theater, a juice bar and topless club that shares the Turnbull Plaza parking lot.

Young, who has worked out of the Gayle Avenue location for more than 20 years, said he is moving because the topless club’s patrons fill the parking lot and make his female employees feel unsafe, said William Crawford, Young’s attorney.

But Hawaii Theater owner Lee Korsby said Young is overreacting.

“I haven’t done any harm to him,” said Korsby, who opened his juice bar two months ago. “He’s congesting the parking lot, not us. He has 50 agents out there. Business here is slow because we are a new club.”
