Weekend TV : Two Sci-Fi Kids’ Series Top Marathon Menu

Two new kids’ series blast off this weekend. But there’s also plenty of entertainment on tap for adults.

* ABC introduces “Hypernauts” to its Saturday morning lineup at 9 a.m. on Channels 7 and 3. Glenn Herman and Marc Brandon Daniel star in this sci-fi series about three young cadets.

* Nickelodeon travels two centuries into the future with its new sci-fi odyssey, “Space Cases,” at 9 tonight. The series, co-created by Bill Mumy (“Lost in Space”), focuses on five kids from different parts of the galaxy.

* USA kicks off its new series “Pacific Blue” at 8 tonight. Rick Rossovich stars as a former homicide cop who heads a unit of four officers that patrols a Southern California beach.

* If you’re in a musical mood, Marilyn Horne, John Tesh, Steve Lawrence, Eydie Gorme, Pete Fountain and Nell Carter join conductor Marvin Hamlisch for PBS’ “Marvin Hamlisch & the Pittsburgh Pops,” tonight at 9 on KCET-TV Channel 28 and at 6 on KOCE-TV Channel 50.

* Dennis Miller will dish out irreverent comedy and biting topical humor on the new “HBO Comedy Hour: Dennis Miller: ‘Citizen Arcane,’ ” tonight at 10:15 p.m. on HBO.

* KCOP-TV Channel 13 has live coverage of the 11th annual Los Angeles Marathon, Sunday at 8 a.m. Barry Thompkins and Larry Rawson co-anchor.

* Sunday is a double bill of the Boss on the Disney Channel. “Bruce Springsteen: Blood Brothers” at 9 p.m. is a look at Springsteen’s in-studio reunion with the E Street Band, followed by “Bruce Springsteen: New York City ’95.”
