ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ABUSE

Share

I enjoyed reading about the school for butlers (“What Ho, Jeeves! Watch Who You’re Calling Jeeves, Buddy,” by Ted Gup, Jan. 28). It’s good to know that it’s not a lost art.

What bothered me was Lesson No. 3, about abuse, adultery and addiction--that none are either to be seen nor heard. Well, OK for the adultery and addiction, but abuse must always be reported, no matter who sees it or against whom it is perpetrated.

Wake up! This is the end of the 20th century. To tell prospective butlers to ignore abuse is exactly the type of attitude that society has been trying to overcome. I sincerely hope that Starkey International changes its policy on this matter immediately. Abuse is always a crime and cannot be ignored.
