Laws Already Target Mountain Lions
* According to recent information from the California Department of Fish and Game, “there is a far greater risk of being struck by lightning than being attacked by a mountain lion.”
When attacks do occur or even when lions create a potential hazard to humans, they are already dealt with by provisions of current laws of California. The state’s Wildlife Protection Act of 1990 allows for the destruction of troublesome mountain lions.
Vote no on Proposition 197 because we can coexist with these magnificent animals with the laws already in force today.
