Westside : BOARDWALK
The start of the $6.2-million Venice boardwalk renovation has been delayed until next winter so that environmental studies of the project can be completed and incorporated into construction plans.
Project construction had been scheduled to start in the summer, said Kathleen Chan, Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Department project manager.
Officials also decided to stagger the renovations so that construction work would not disrupt the boardwalk’s peak tourist season. The project is expected to be completed in winter 1998, Chan said.
