Teacher Charged With Having Unlawful Sex
Prosecutors formally charged a Fillmore high school teacher Friday with having unlawful sexual intercourse with a student.
Daniel V. Ramirez, 41, of Port Hueneme was arrested on campus last month after allegations surfaced that he and a 17-year-old student were engaged in a sexual relationship. The girl is now 18.
Ramirez, a science and math teacher, remains suspended with pay, pending the outcome of criminal proceedings.
He is scheduled to enter a plea in Ventura County Municipal Court on Friday.
