Re “Clinton Isn’t Very Good, but Is He Beatable?” Column Right, March 5:

Mickey Edwards writes his sneaky philippic under the cloak of the John F. Kennedy School of Government. Mickey, come out from under your sheep’s clothing.

Clinton, perhaps, is not the best president we have ever had in office, but he is a whole lot better than anything I see on the horizon. Furthermore, his record is much better than the die-hard Republicans care to admit. In fact, lately, it has been pretty darn good. The vituperation gets louder and crabbier as the president looks better and better, especially compared to the Republican presidential aspirants.
