Share

Former Moorpark College student Todd Hoult pleaded not guilty Monday to charges that he robbed a Westlake Village bank.

His girlfriend, Tabetha Garibay, is scheduled to be arraigned March 18 on charges that she aided the robbery by driving the getaway car for Hoult. Her lawyer, Shawn Perez, said she also plans to plead not guilty.

The two were charged in connection with a robbery at the Coast Federal Bank on Dec. 14. Federal prosecutors said Hoult entered the bank carrying a semiautomatic gun and took about $8,925 before fleeing in a gold Corvette driven by Garibay.

Garibay, a former soccer player for Newbury Park High School, remains free on $25,000 bond, while Hoult remains in custody at the federal Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles.

Their trial in federal court is set to begin April 30, said Assistant U.S. Atty. Andre Birotte Jr.
