Woman to Discuss Date Rape Experience
Katie Koestner, a nationally recognized speaker on the issue of date rape, on Wednesday at Oxnard College will describe her efforts to survive sexual assault.
The talk will begin at 7 p.m. in the college gymnasium. The program, sponsored by the Wellness Committee of the Ventura County Community College District, is free and open to the public.
Koestner went public in 1992 with her account of being sexually assaulted by a fellow student while enrolled at the College of William and Mary in Virginia.
She has appeared in numerous magazines and spoken at more than 150 colleges.
She is currently working on an HBO docudrama based on her experiences called “No Visible Bruises.”
