TV Ratings Process to Begin: About 20 representatives from the television industry will have their first meeting today to begin the process of devising a ratings system for TV since a White House meeting last month with President Clinton. Expected are several network executives; company lobbyists; and representatives from the National Assn. of Broadcasters, the National Cable Television Assn. and the Motion Picture Assn. of America. How the ratings will be done and who will determine the categories are among the issues to be resolved before the industry can make good on its promise to have a voluntary TV ratings system in place by January. “This is the first of many meetings,” one executive said. “This is going to take months to do.”
