As Bass Arrive, So Do the Tales

Share

Largemouth bass are beginning to rise from their winter slumber, as they do every spawning season, and bass fishermen are acting accordingly--ditching work, lying about what baits they are using and accusing those catching bigger fish of cheating.

Nowhere is this as evident as at Lake Casitas, one of the world’s premiere trophy bass fisheries, which takes on a circus atmosphere every spring.

Top catch this past week: three fish totaling 31 pounds, including a 15-pounder caught by Erik Stepanik of Castaic. He used crawdads, or so he says.
