Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky appointed two San Fernando Valley residents to the county’s Judicial Procedures Commission, the supervisor’s office said Wednesday.

The appointees are Studio City resident John A. FitzRandolph, dean and professor at Whittier College School of Law, and Encino resident Janice Kamenir-Reznick, an attorney and partner in the Sherman Oaks-based law firm of Reznick & Reznick.

“I’m proud to welcome these . . . individuals as my appointees,” Yaroslavsky said in a written statement. “At a time when court budgets, like those in every county department, are tighter than ever before, it’s critical to think as boldly and creatively as we can to improve our administration of justice.”

The duties of the 15-member commission include recommending improvements in court management to reduce caseloads and delays. The panel also helps determine the need for additional judges in the Municipal and Superior courts.
