Forbes to Appear at Nixon Library

Share

Steve Forbes, the millionaire publisher who withdrew last week as a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, will speak at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace.

Forbes is expected to discuss a variety of topics--including how the Republicans can win the White House in November--in one of his first public appearances since he dropped out of the race and threw his support to the front-runner, Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole.

Forbes’ talk, scheduled while he was still a candidate, is part of the library’s Issues Forum, which focuses on the 1996 presidential race. It will include a segment where the audience may ask questions.

Alan Keyes, who is seeking the Republican nomination, will speak at the library at 7:30 p.m. Saturday as part of a fund-raising drive.

Evie Lazzarino, a library spokesperson, said the library expects a visit from another presidential candidate but cannot identify him until the date has been confirmed.

Seating for candidate lectures is limited. The library is at 18001 Yorba Linda Blvd. Information: (714) 993-5075.
