World IN BRIEF : BAHRAIN : Hotel Bomb Blast Injures 2 People
A bomb exploded at the entrance to a hotel health club in Manama, wounding two people and keeping tension high in this Persian Gulf island state plagued by antigovernment violence. It was the third hotel bombing in Manama since Jan. 17, when a wave of violent antigovernment protests by Shiite Muslims began. The latest blast blew out the aluminum door of the Baisan International Hotel’s health club and shattered windows in the lobby of the five-story hotel. A man and a woman were slightly wounded. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing.
