Mario Vega, who oversees the recycling program at Niketown, has received the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce’s environmental award.
The store’s staff is encouraged to carpool, walk or bicycle to work, and more than half now do.
In addition, Niketown recycles paper, cardboard, plastic and aluminum, and uses stationery, bags and boxes made of recycled products.
