‘Bachelor’ President Hits Links for 36 Holes
No sooner had President Clinton’s family left town than the president felt the need for a marathon round of golf.
Clinton took advantage of sunshine and temperatures in the low 60s Sunday to play 36 holes at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md.
Joining the president for the 6 1/2-hour session were longtime friend Vernon E. Jordan Jr., former Deputy White House Chief of Staff Erskine Bowles and John Hilley, an assistant to the president for legislative affairs.
The president’s wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and 16-year-old daughter Chelsea flew to Germany on Saturday night.
