Super Seder Ceramics
With Passover just around the corner, the time has come to dust off the old Seder plate and get rid of all the leavened goods in the house. And maybe it’s also time for a new Seder plate as a reward for clearing out all that hametz.

The March 28 Cookstuff column included an item about the flavored cooking oil sprays from Tryson House that was illustrated with a photograph of another brand, World Cuisine flavored cooking oil sprays from Columbus Foods. Branah Layah, a North Hollywood artist “inspired by her father’s humorous way of looking at life,” as she says, has made a perfect set for the holidays. These hand-painted glazed ceramic pieces--Seder plate, matzo plate and Elijah’s cup--have a wonderful childish whimsy but still show respect for tradition.

But be warned, whimsy does not come cheap: The Seder plate lists for $600 and the matzo plate and Elijah’s cup are $150 each.
