‘Outstanding’ Park Makes the Roster

Rookie pitcher Chan Ho Park made the 25-man roster after reliever Antonio Osuna was optioned to Albuquerque.

Although the team indicated Park would probably be sent to the minors so he could pitch every fifth day, he’ll open in the bullpen.

He could become the Dodgers’ fifth starter if Pedro Astacio falters again. Astacio started 11 games last season before he was replaced in the rotation by Ismael Valdes.

“The guy had an outstanding spring,” Manager Tom Lasorda said of Park.

Right fielder Raul Mondesi sat out his second consecutive game because of a pulled muscle below his rib cage, but Lasorda said Mondesi should be able to play in today’s season-opener at Houston.
