Pacoima : Man, 20, Killed, 2 Hurt as Car Swerves, Flips
A 20-year-old Lake View Terrace man was thrown from his car and died in a rollover accident after he swerved sharply to avoid another vehicle, Los Angeles police said Monday.
Juan Samuel Romero, 20, was killed about 8:50 p.m. Sunday after he swerved to dodge an unidentified car leaving a home on Osborne Street, Det. Ron Vega said.
The turn caused Romero’s small car to flip over and he was thrown from the vehicle, Vega said.
Romero’s front-seat passenger, girlfriend Abena Muhammed, 22, of Hawthorne, was taken to Pacifica Hospital and released Monday morning, Vega said. Nisi Thayne, 35, who was in the back seat, was in critical condition at Holy Cross Medical Center, Vega said.
Vega said police could find no witnesses to the accident, adding that the passengers in Romero’s car could not describe the other vehicle.
