AFI, Morton’s Team Up for Classic Film Series

The American Film Institute and Arnie Morton’s of Chicago have announced a new partnership dedicated to commemorating great American movies.

The first film featured in the Classic American Film Series is “Some Like It Hot,” Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the General Cinema Beverly Connection, 100 N. La Cienega Blvd., Beverly Hills.

After the screening, stars Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis will attend a special dinner with 60 guests at Morton’s Los Angeles restaurant, 437 S. La Cienega Blvd.

“The Miracle Worker” is scheduled for May 21, while “The Americanization of Emily” is planned for June 18. Both will be shown at 7 p.m. at the General Cinema Beverly Connection.

Patty Duke and Anne Bancroft are scheduled to attend the May 21 screening. James Garner and James Coburn are scheduled to attend the June 18 screening.

Tickets for the series are $300 per person or $125 for one evening.
