Warner-Lambert, Pfizer to Sell Anti-Cholesterol Drug: Pfizer Inc. said it signed a letter of intent with Morris Plains, N.J.-based Warner-Lambert Co. to jointly promote and sell the anti-cholesterol drug atorvastatin in the United States and overseas. “We believe atorvastatin to be a best-in-class therapy and a substantial opportunity that will complement our outstanding cardiovascular medicines,” said William Steere Jr., Pfizer’s chairman and chief executive. New York-based Pfizer had sales of about $10 billion in 1995. Warner-Lambert had revenue of $7.04 billion last year. On the New York Stock Exchange, Pfizer stock shed 50 cents to $67.125 and Warner-Lambert shares fell $3.50 to $108.25.
