BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : Edmonds’ Elbow Still in Pain

Share

Center fielder Jim Edmonds winces every time he throws, the tendinitis in his left elbow causing him “more pain than I’ve ever felt in my arm before.”

Edmonds had the elbow X-rayed Friday. The tests didn’t reveal any major problems--and he has been receiving ice and ultrasound treatments, but what he really could use is a day off or two to give his arm a chance to heal.

Edmonds has just the day in mind: “Some time this winter,” he said.

The Angels optioned reliever Ken Edenfield to triple-A Vancouver after Friday night’s game to make room for starter Scott Sanderson, who will start today against the Tigers.
