Valleywide : Sun Starts Week, but Clouds Are Coming

Share

Sunny skies are forecast for today but a front from the Gulf of Alaska will bring increasing high clouds by Wednesday and, along with it, a slight chance of showers, the National Weather Service said.

Such a front would have brought heavy rains just a month or two ago, but now that spring is in full bloom it will have lost most of its punch by the time it reaches Southern California, said Bruce Rockwell, a meteorologist for the weather service in Oxnard.

Daytime temperatures will reach the 60s along the coast and the 70s inland over the next few days, he said, while nighttime lows will dip to the 40s along the coast and the 50s inland.

Look for a slight clearing by Friday, he said, when a weak high-pressure ridge will build up over the Southland, pushing the clouds to the east.
