‘B.C.’ Cartoon

All this hoo-hah over Johnny Hart’s “B.C.” amuses me much more than his cartoons do (letters, April 11). He’s used the strip to proselytize for years. I see no reason to condemn him for it now. I stopped reading the strip long ago because I found its plots predictable and its characters unsympathetic, but I’ve never stopped considering the artist entitled to spread his view of the world however he sees fit.
I might, however, enjoy “B.C.” if someone explained to me how people who--by definition--lived “Before Christ” happened by the faith in him they talk about so often.
