A retired Pasadena police officer was sentenced Tuesday to 30 days in jail and five days’ community service for interfering with police trying to close down a boisterous party in North Hollywood, according to the Los Angeles city attorney’s office.

On Dec. 8, Robert J. Linker, 53, a 25-year veteran of the Pasadena Police Department, flashed a police identification card and told about 200 party-goers to ignore Los Angeles police who were ordering them to disperse, the city attorney said.

Police were called about 11 p.m. by neighbors complaining that the revelers at the Finnish Hall in the 10700 block of Magnolia Boulevard were being unruly in the street outside the building, according to the city attorney’s office.

A jury in Van Nuys Municipal Court on Friday took 3 1/2 hours to find Linker guilty of interfering with police and disturbing the peace.

The sentence imposed Tuesday by Municipal Court Judge Alice E. Altoon included a fine of $910, the city attorney said.
