Central Los Angeles : Clinic to Offer Health Screenings for Community
The Mays Medical Clinic in South-Central Los Angeles today will hold a health fair that features free services for adults and children in the community.
The fair provides a convenient site for people to receive free mammograms and pulmonary HIV and blood pressure tests. Medical staff members also will distribute literature and show a video about available services at the clinic.
It will take place from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 8915 S. Broadway.
“We’re trying to reach the South-Central community that is not aware of these services,” said Dr. James A. Mays, cardiologist at the clinic.
The event is sponsored by Adopt-A-Family, a nonprofit group that provides health care services for low-income residents throughout Los Angeles.
