In another league game:

El Modena 2, Orange 0--Becky Deems went three for three, including a triple, and had an RBI and Courtney Heil gave up only five hits for visiting El Modena (14-8, 3-2). Orange is 10-9, 2-3.

In the Empire League:

Century 3, Loara 2 (8)--Jenny Hulihan scored on an error in the bottom of the eighth inning as Century (8-8, 1-4) recorded its first Empire League victory.

El Dorado 2, Cypress 0--Carrie Jeffries (10-3) pitched a four-hitter, striking out five, and Samantha Kimura had two hits and an RBI for El Dorado (14-5, 5-0).

In the Freeway League:

Sonora 3, Fullerton 0--Georgeanne Wisen pitched a six-hitter and struck out eight for host Sonora (14-9-1, 3-2).

In the Garden Grove League:

Garden Grove 1, Bolsa Grande 0--The winning run was scored by Melissa Beck on an obstruction call. Garden Grove is 17-7, 6-2.

In the Olympic League:

Calvary Chapel 2, Cerritos Valley Christian 1 (9 innings)--Sarah Garrido tripled to lead off the ninth, then scored the winning run on a throwing error for host Calvary Chapel (13-9, 3-2). Keri Przygocki (9-4) allowed no earned runs and struck out eight.

Orange Lutheran 2, Brethren Christian 1--Erin Norton pitched a two-hitter for Orange Lutheran (13-4, 3-2). Norton had two hits for the Lancers.

In the Sunset League:

Fountain Valley 5, Huntington Beach 1--The Barons upset third-ranked Huntington Beach after scoring four unearned runs on three errors in the fourth inning. The Oilers (16-7, 4-1) stranded nine baserunners and left runners in scoring position five times.

Keary Camunas (11-5) allowed one unearned run on five hits, Andrea Kleckner drove in two runs and Lisa Layton had two hits for Fountain Valley (13-8, 4-1), which moves into a tie for first.

In Orange League golf:

Valencia 203, Brea Olinda 211--Senior Eric Lama had three birdies and shot a two-under 35 at Alta Vista for Valencia (13-3, 8-0).

In the Pacific Coast League:

Estancia 188, Aliso Niguel 214--Mike Perry shot a one-under 35 for Estancia (14-2, 9-0) at Mesa Verde. The Eagles set a school record for low score with 188.

The victory also clinched the Pacific Coast League title for Estancia.

In Pacific Coast League boys’ tennis:

University 12, Laguna Hills 6--Alex Oh and Frank Huang swept at doubles, 6-2, 6-4, 6-2, for second-ranked University (8-0 in league). Freshman Zac Marshall swept, 7-5, 6-4, 6-4, for the Hawks (7-7, 4-4).

In the Sea View League:

Corona del Mar 15, Newport Harbor 3--Boris Turkich swept at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-0, 6-1, for top-ranked Corona del Mar (13-2, 8-0).

Santa Margarita 13, El Toro 5--Andrew Tsu swept, 6-2, 6-1, 6-1, and Derek Fears swept, 6-0, 6-3, 6-3, for ninth-ranked Santa Margarita (13-5, 5-3).

In the Sunset League:

Los Alamitos 13, Esperanza 5--Cody Jackson swept, 6-3, 6-0, 6-0, for seventh-ranked Los Alamitos (11-2, 7-1).

In South Coast League boys’ track:

Mission Viejo 72, Mater Dei 64--Ted Whelan won the pole vault (14-8) for Mater Dei (3-2).

In South Coast League girls’ track:

Mission Viejo 93, Mater Dei 39--Ashley Bethel won the 100 hurdles (14.9) for second-ranked Mission Viejo (5-0).
