VENICE CLINIC
The efforts of the Venice Family Clinic have been recognized by the Los Angeles County Community Development Commission, which has presented the community health care organization with an Outstanding Project Achievement Award.
The award is for the clinic’s new Weisman Family Center, which provides social services to people receiving care at the medical clinic.
The Community Development Commission provided the Venice Family Clinic with about $125,000 in federal Community Block Grant money to remodel the center, said Elizabeth Forer, executive director of the clinic. Among other programs, the center is collaborating with a child-care center on the Westside to provide a Head Start Program for children ranging from birth to 3 years old.
