Man Injured When Car Runs Over Him
A Ventura-area man was hospitalized Sunday after being run over by his own car.
Martin Parra, 19, was listed in guarded but stable condition Sunday afternoon at Santa Paula Memorial Hospital.
Parra had been working on the car, a 1972 Chevrolet convertible, at the time of the accident. According to the California Highway Patrol, the car’s engine was running when, about 11 a.m., the vehicle rolled out of a driveway at 11874 Telegraph Road and into a lemon orchard. Parra ran after the car and somehow fell beneath the wheels.
He remained pinned under the car until a Ventura County Fire Department rescue team freed him.
