Man Critical After Santa Ana Shooting
A 24-year-old Santa Ana man was hospitalized in critical condition after being shot in the chest late Saturday by an unknown assailant, police said.
Police and paramedics were called to the 900 block of South Minnie Street about 11:10 p.m. after Israel Zamoria knocked on the door of an apartment for help after being shot once, Police Sgt. Dick Faust said. “It appears that the shooting occurred somewhere in the area,” Faust said.
Zamoria, who does not live in the neighborhood, was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, Faust said.
It is undetermined if the shooting was gang-related, Faust said.
