Meyer, Meyers Win Anaheim Golf Titles
Giles Meyer of Westminster won the men’s championship division and Patty Meyers won the women’s A division of the Anaheim City Amateur golf championships Sunday.
Meyer, who had a two-day total of three-under 139, shot par (71) Sunday at Dad Miller and won by three shots over runners-up Mark Foster of Mission Viejo and J.T. Kohut of Simi Valley.
Foster beat Kohut on the first playoff hole to claim second outright.
Hector Garcia of La Habra, who won the tournament in 1979, was fourth at 143.
Meyer had taken the first-round lead with a three-under 68 Saturday at Anaheim Hills. He had only two bogeys in the tournament.
Meyers beat Xio Beach of Seal Beach on the first playoff hole after they tied at 141. Beach, who had a hole-in-one Saturday in shooting a 68 at Dad Miller, shot 73 Sunday at Anaheim Hills.
More than 400 golfers played in the tournament.
