CSUN Satellite to See Record Total of Grads

More than 400 baccalaureate, graduate and credential students are set to don cap and gown later this month when Cal State Northridge’s Ventura Campus hands out degrees to the largest class in its 20-year history.

CSUN President Blenda J. Wilson will officiate at the ceremony, to be held at the Ventura Community College gymnasium.

Warren H. Fox, executive director of the California Post Secondary Education Commission in Sacramento, will address the students, many of them adults who returned to university studies for advanced degrees. CPEC is the state’s planning and coordinating agency for higher education.

The Ventura satellite campus, which offers upper-division, graduate and credential programs for students registered at Northridge, will eventually fold into the yet-to-be-built Ventura County Cal State campus.

The ceremony, which is open to the public, begins at 10 a.m. May 24. For more information, call 654-4575.
