Hadd Ring, Newport Beach Developer and Trustee, Dies

NEWPORT BEACH — Hadd Ring, a local real estate developer who helped build country clubs and residential communities in Orange County, has died. He was 92.
Ring died Saturday of kidney failure and other medical complications at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach.
“His body simply gave out,” said his son, Bill Ring, a real estate agent in Newport Beach. “He went very peacefully.”
Hadd Ring developed the Balboa Bay Club, the Newport Beach Country Club and Newport Beach residential developments like Balboa Coves, Dover Shores, Eastbluff and Bayside Village.
The Illinois native also served as past president of the Orange County Assn. of Realtors and the Newport Harbor Union High School District.
His ashes will be scattered at sea during a private service Saturday.
In addition to his son, Ring is survived by a daughter, Dolores Jacobs, of Washington; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
