It’s Best Not to Discuss Politics and NFL
Representatives of the Los Angeles City Council, the Coliseum Commission and a residential group from Chavez Ravine have a similar agenda: to block the construction of an NFL football stadium at Dodger Stadium.
In light of the modern stadium construction boom across the nation, it’s myopic to think the Coliseum is even a short-term solution. It’s a structure that fits well with an Exposition Park neighbor: a museum.
I’d argue that most football fans would side with T.J. Simers: We demand a new, fan-friendly, state-of-the-art facility. Given the Coliseum’s record in keeping NFL tenants and the success of the Dodger organization, I’d vote for a fresh start: Chavez Ravine.
