Tickets go on sale next Saturday for two Southern California dates of the Further Festival--the tour featuring former members of the Grateful Dead--Aug. 1 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds and Aug. 2 at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre. The bill is topped by Ratdog (fronted by Dead guitarist Bob Weir), drummer Mickey Hart’s Mystery Box with Bruce Hornsby, Los Lobos and Hot Tuna also appearing. . . . On sale today is the Cure at the Forum, May 11. . . . Also on sale today are the Hootie & the Blowfish shows Sept. 15 at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre and Sept. 22 at the Glen Helen Blockbuster Pavilion. . . . On sale Monday is Chicago at the Hollywood Bowl, July 7, performing with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. . . . Jerry Lee Lewis and Social Distortion will co-headline Hootenanny ‘96, July 7 at the Oak Canyon Ranch in Irvine, a cross-generational festival of rockabilly and blues roots also featuring Supersuckers, the Blasters, Los Infernos, Southern Culture on the Skids and Cadillac Tramps. . . . On sale today are Failure at the Whisky (May 28), Toots & the Maytals at the Palace (June 19) and the Glass House in Pomona (June 20) and 311, Voodoo Glow Skulls and the Urge at the Hollywood Palladium (June 22). . . . The Bill Morrissey show scheduled for tonight at McCabe’s has been rescheduled for Friday. Tickets for tonight will be honored or may be refunded at McCabe’s during regular business hours.
