* * 1/2 Cocteau Twins, “Milk & Kisses,” Capitol

After eight years, this arty Scottish trio finally embraced song structures in the 1990 album “Heaven or Las Vegas,” where its lushly sedate, impressionistic sounds took surprisingly concrete forms. Two albums later, they’re still exploring the parameters of song structure, fluttering across a richly textured soundscape that often suggests Angelo Badalamenti’s “Twin Peaks” work with the gloom removed.
