Obituaries : * Virginia Z. Flores; Lifelong Santa Paula Resident

Virginia Z. Flores, a lifelong Santa Paula resident, died Saturday at her home. She was 68.

Flores was born April 20, 1928, to Pedro Zavala and Dolores Tapia.

For 34 years she worked as a lemon packer at the Saticoy Lemon Packing House. She also worked in the cafeteria and playground of St. Sebastian School in Santa Paula.

She is survived by her son, Benny Arellano of Visalia; four daughters, Liza Lopez of Fillmore, Anita Ramirez, Janet Brown and Carolyn Arellano, all of Santa Paula. Other survivors include four brothers, Fred Zavala of Port Hueneme and Edward Zavala, Robert Zavala and Reggie Zavala, all of Portersville, as well as 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The rosary service will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Santa Paula. The burial mass, conducted by Father James Rothe, will start at 9 a.m. Wednesday, with interment to follow at Santa Paula Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Pierce Brothers Stetler Mortuary of Santa Paula.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Santa Clara Valley Hospice.
