Public Works Invites Public to Open House
Residents wanting to learn more about city streets, flood control, parks, sewers, trash pickup or water service are invited to the Public Works Department’s open house today.
The event, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Donald W. Kiser Corp. Yard, 17371 Gothard St., will feature various aspects of public works and the services the department provides.
Tim Dupuis, geographic information systems analyst, said public works oversees such areas as engineering, parks, trees, landscape, water and maintenance.
“People tend to take for granted the flushing of a toilet, going through an intersection with a green light or turning on the tap water,” Dupuis said. “We want to make them aware of the infrastructure that runs the city.”
