Country music greats Willie Nelson and Patty Loveless, as well as crooner Pat Boone and Las Vegas’ Wayne Newton, will grace the grandstand at the Ventura County Fair in August.
The entertainment lineup released Tuesday draws from the ‘60s and ‘70s, including the Grass Roots and Elvin Bishop, in addition to Boone, a teen idol from the 1950s.
Boone will perform with his band and singers, the New Chordettes, on Aug. 20.
Nelson is scheduled to be the opening-night performer on Aug. 14. Motown favorite Gladys Knight will follow on Aug. 15.
Newton will perform on Aug. 21, and Loveless will entertain fair-goers the following evening.
Also scheduled to participate in the annual fair is comedian Gallagher.
In addition, entertainment will include Fiesta Day, stock-car racing, sprint-car racing, a demolition derby and three nights of rodeo.
