A Thousand Oaks tow truck company owner suspected of shooting a Lancaster man Monday night will be arraigned Tuesday in Municipal Court on murder charges, authorities said.

Bradley Neill Raville, 42, was arrested Tuesday morning on suspicion of shooting Juan Elijio Carranza, 35. Raville’s arraignment was postponed Thursday afternoon while police gathered more evidence, but he was rearrested Thursday night in his Ventura County Jail cell, said Sgt. David Paige of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.

Carranza was found dead in the passenger seat of Raville’s tow truck, parked near the Thousand Oaks offices from which Raville’s company, Brad’s Towing, had recently been evicted. The dead man’s sister said Carranza had recently been working part time for Raville, who told deputies he shot Carranza in self-defense when he tried to rob him.

Raville’s attorney, William Stephen Tomasi of Westlake Village, could not be reached for comment Friday.

Investigators are still trying to compile evidence, Paige said.

During a search after the shooting, the victim’s girlfriend, Cynthia Marie Carranza, 31, was arrested by deputies at Raville’s home on suspicion of possessing 10.6 grams of crystal methamphetamine, but was released from Ventura County Jail late Thursday. She was not charged, but authorities have up to three years to file felony drug charges against her, Paige said.
