Overseas Adventure Travel (OAT) features adventures for the over-50 traveler with a choice of destinations available for summer, fall and winter 1996. Trips are rated in the OAT catalog as easy, easy/moderate, moderate and demanding. Lodging meets comfortable standards, even if it is a jungle lodge, a tented camp or a family-run inn.

All OAT travel includes the following features:

* Round-trip air fare from major U.S. gateways.

* All ground transportation.

* All accommodations including hotels, lodges and camp sites.

* Most meals.

* Services of guides, drivers, naturalists and porters.

The price for each tour is based on the length of the tour and the date selected, so cost may vary from $100 to $300 per person over the prices quoted below. Extensions are available for some tours at additional cost. In instances where departure is not from the West Coast, add-on fares from Southern California are included. Costa Rica--10 days from $1,890 including round-trip air fare from Miami. Travel in Costa Rica is by air-conditioned minibus. Includes all meals.

Four Worlds of the Andes--15 days from $2,590 including round-trip air fare from Miami. A rare opportunity to visit parts of Bolivia and Peru.

Turkey’s Magical Hideaways--17 days from $3,490 including round-trip air fare from New York. Eight nights in hotels and inns, six nights aboard a yacht, one night home stay. Includes most meals. Includes swimming, snorkeling and visits to ancient cites along the Aegean Sea.

Unexplored Serengeti--17 days from $4,590, including round-trip air fare from Boston or New York. View African wildlife in national parks and lush forests. The tour begins in the town of Arusha, Tanzania, near Kilimanjaro.

Tanzania Wildlife Adventure--14 days from $3,790. Includes several national parks, modern camps with baths and showers, two days of camel rides and a meeting with the Masai people and most meals.

Botswana Ultimate Safari--17 days from $5,190. Includes round-trip air fare from New York, 11 nights full-service camping, three nights in hotels, and most meals. Visit the Kalahari Desert, wildlife preserves and astonishing terrain.

The Eternal Nile--16 days from $3,390 including round-trip air fare from New York or Boston. Three nights aboard a Nile cruise ship, most meals and an extensive overview of the traditional culture and history of Egypt, including a camel ride in the desert, sailing on a felucca, a home-hosted dinner and snorkeling at a resort. Sightseeing includes Cairo, Giza Pyramids, Abu Simbel and other historic sites.
