Cal State Northridge gave up five runs in the first inning and never recovered, falling to Florida State, 9-2, in the West final.
Florida State (51-15) went 4-0 in the regional to advance to the World Series for the 15th time and third year in a row.
Left-hander Steve Morgan, 2-0 in the regional, gave up three hits and two runs in six-plus innings and was named the most valuable player. Mark Chavez struck out eight and gave up no hits over the last three innings.
A two-run home run by Casey Cheshier in the seventh inning was all the offense Northridge (52-18) could muster the day after eliminating Mississippi State and Stanford in one-run victories.
