Datametrics Reports Loss of $3.1 Million for Quarter

Share

Datametrics Corp., a Woodland Hills maker of computer printers, said its loss widened in the fiscal second quarter to $3.1 million from $2.5 million in the same quarter last year. Revenues for the period were up 21% to $4.7 million from $3.9 million.

For the first six months of this year, the loss was $5.4 million, larger than the loss of $4.1 million for the same period last year. Combined revenues for the first two quarters were up 14% to $8.3 million from $7.3 million in the corresponding period last year.

The company said increased revenues in the first half of this year were due to boosted sales of some defense-related products, and initial sales of some commercial ones.

Losses widened, the company said, because of low production in commercial units, and because of engineering and marketing expenses related to new product introductions.
