VALLEY SPRINGS, S.D. —
An Air National Guard F-16 crashed in a field Friday after the pilot ejected safely.
No one on the ground was hurt, said Maj. Ruth Christopherson of the Sioux Falls Air National Guard office. The pilot was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
She said the jet and pilot were from a National Guard unit in Sioux City, Iowa, that has been flying out of Sioux Falls while repairs are made to the runway in Sioux City.
