Collision Kills Sylmar Woman, Injures 3

A 75-year-old Sylmar woman was killed and three people injured when the woman’s car was broadsided Sunday night, police said.
Clara Alexander was driving west on Hubbard Street in Sylmar at 6:15 p.m. when her car was hit in the left side by a car headed north on Foothill Boulevard, Los Angeles police said.
Alexander suffered massive injuries. She was taken to Olive View-UCLA Medical Center in Sylmar, where she was pronounced dead, authorities said.
The driver of the other car was identified as Elmer Thomas, 19, of Lake View Terrace. Thomas and two passengers had minor injuries, police said.
Police were investigating the cause of the accident late Sunday.
